What does TEREA Purple Wave taste like?

IQOS describes the TEREA Purple Wave flavor as a tobacco blend with "crisp menthol cooling sensations and indulgent dark forest fruit aroma nuances". Other IQOS copy calls the menthol "deep", and some swaps the forest fruit for blueberry and labels the stick "Fresh & Blueberry".

Our catalog notes are menthol and forest berries, and we file it with aromatic flavors, while the IQOS map groups it under menthol and aromatic tobacco. The description here comes from IQOS wording and our notes, not a tasting account.

TEREA Purple Wave intensity ratings

The IQOS flavor map lists it as "Mauve wave" at 5 of 10 for intensity: level with Yellow and Green, above Turquoise (4) and below Blue (7), while capsule flavors such as Twilight Pearl go unrated.

IQOS notes that intensity or descriptions "relate solely to the flavor profile". Our Balanced step, the second of four flavor-strength steps, is a taste grouping too, and none of these numbers measures nicotine.

Is TEREA Purple Wave menthol? Cooling and capsule

Yes. IQOS labels it "Menthol with berries", and IQOS copy calls the cooling "crisp". Our catalog puts TEREA Purple Wave at Medium, level 2 of our cooling scale (None, Light, Medium, Strong), next to Ruby Wave and below Blue at Strong.

IQOS Egypt lists it among TEREA flavors without a capsule; Twilight Pearl, below, is a capsule flavor with blueberry and menthol on a click.

TEREA Purple Wave vs other TEREA flavors

1–10: IQOS flavor map. 1–5: the IQOS intensity bar. A dash means no official number; "Ours" is our flavor-strength step / cooling level.

Flavor	1–10	1–5	Ours
Purple Wave	5	—	Balanced / Medium
Ruby Wave	—	—	Rich / Medium
Twilight Pearl	—	—	Bold / Medium
Blue	7	3	Balanced / Strong

TEREA Purple Wave vs Ruby Wave

Ruby Wave is the closest on paper. The fruit sets them apart: IQOS pairs Ruby Wave's menthol with "deep indulgent red garden berries" and a floral undertone, against dark forest fruit for Purple Wave. Our catalog places Ruby Wave one step higher, Rich against Balanced; our steps are a house taste grouping, not a conversion of IQOS scores.

TEREA Purple Wave vs Twilight Pearl

Both join berries and menthol, but Twilight Pearl releases its fruit with a click: IQOS labels it "Blueberry & Menthol on a click" over a full-bodied, malty toasted base. We file it on Bold; IQOS gives it no 10-point figure.

TEREA Purple Wave vs Blue

Blue is the deeper menthol: IQOS calls it "Cooling & Deep" with peppermint aroma notes, and our cooling scale puts it a level higher. Purple Wave leans on dark berries instead. Both sit on our Balanced flavor-strength step.

Is TEREA Mauve the same as TEREA Purple Wave?

IQOS data points to one flavor. IQOS sells a TEREA Mauve under a product address built on the Purple Wave name, with the same global article code as the Purple Wave bundle and the same crisp-menthol, dark-forest-fruit text. It is also sold as TEREA Mauve Wave.

TEREA Purple Wave pack editions

Two pack editions are offered through the edition switcher. Both are sold as TEREA Purple Wave; the pack design follows the production edition.

Which devices work with TEREA Purple Wave?

TEREA Purple Wave fits IQOS ILUMA and ILUMA i devices, our IQOS ILUMA i PRIME among them. IQOS labels it "Compatible with all IQOS ILUMA devices" and warns against using TEREA sticks with previous IQOS generations, which rules out older bladed IQOS devices.

Is there a HEETS Purple Wave?

HEETS is a separate stick line for older bladed IQOS devices and does not fit ILUMA; no IQOS page we found names a HEETS twin for TEREA Purple Wave. The nearest-described is HEETS Mauve, which Philip Morris launched in the UK as a "crisp menthol tobacco blend with a taste of dark forest fruits" for older bladed IQOS devices. No IQOS page we found calls it a match; Purple Wave is only the closest-worded TEREA. The HEETS to TEREA chart lines up every flavor.

How to use TEREA Purple Wave

Insert one stick into a charged device from the ILUMA family and start the session; it is heated, not lit, and each stick is used once.
